Latest NewsGreetings my Friends, And now…. it is with a sad heart that I am closing the shop the end of this month. Our last day will be September 29th. Economics. I have loved coming into the shop and seeing you all at some time or another. I have gained many new friends and fans of Purpura Designs. Ed and I are starting a new adventure. We will be doing the art festival, Bazaars and other events around western Washington. So, we won’t be gone, just in a different venue. You’ll see us around town at different places and probably in the grocery store. Purpura Designs will be getting the focus of our time. I will still be available to teach classes. If there is a design that you still want to do, we’ll set up a time that I can come to you and we’ll have a fun class at your house or some place you decide. I may even teach a class over at LunaAzul. Thanks Deb !! Our hours from here until the 29th will be 12noon (ish) to 6 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Everything will be 25% off. And that’s as low as it will go except for the items already on 50% off. The commissioned artists things, if there are any items left, will NOT be on sale. All of Purpura Designed jewelry will be 15% off. I want to thank my WONDERFUL husband, Ed , for all the support, love, patience, and understanding he has shown me this past year. It HAS been a super ride. So let’s all look to the future, it sparkles like a brand new Swarovski Crystal in the sunlight. I’ll be seeing you. Stop by and see the great deals. We’ll miss you ! From the bottom of my heart, I want to Thank you for everything that I received from you during this past year., I am truly blessed. God Bless you all ! September 2007Welcome to the official start of Fall. The weather is already starting to cool off. Hopefully we’ll get a nice warm Indian Summer, since we didn’t really get a REAL one these past 3 months. The leaves in our yard are already starting to turn and even fall. Or maybe that’s just the lack of watering regularly…. Ed and I had a great time this summer. We did the Gig Harbor Art Festival and the Alki Beach Art Walk. I also got to go to the Oregon Coast and catch up with some dear old friends. The first time that the 6 of us were all in the same place at the same time. Most of us had been best friends since 7th grade. Mary, Julie, Deb, Wendy, Laura and I ( I love and miss you guys). A few more wrinkles around the eyes, a bit thicker around the middle. But being with those women I didn’t feel like I was 50. We laughed, we cried and we looked at old pictures… Good God !!! And we thought we were being so fashionable. If any of you get the chance to get back in touch with old and dear friends, DO IT !! We NEVER know how much time we have on this wonderful earth. Our friend Deb is currently going through breast cancer treatments. She’s doing wonderfully and is going strong. SO… make that appointment to have regular Mammograms and don’t forget that self check. If you aren’t sure how to do it. Ask your healthcare provider to show you. And IF you do find a small lump, get it checked out IMMEDIATLY !!! Better to be on the safe side. I want ALL of you around !! Come in and get those beading supplies before the Christmas Crunch. Even I have gotten an early start. Don’t forget to stock up during our sale from Sept. 5-15th. EVERYTHING (except commissioned artists and Books and Magazines) is 15% OFF Thanks to all of you for coming in and shopping with us. Happy Beading, Marlea
